Diary Day 13 (4th January) - CD Sleeve + Back

Today i added the final touches to the CD Sleeve including the back and Spine. Some development has been added to the front cover including the Artist Name and Album Title. However the the back of the Sleeve is the most developed section.

Firstly on the Front Cover I developed the filtering to make it more dominant and appealing to the purchaser of the Album. I added the Band Name in a Modern Serif font on the bottom of the Logo, I also added the Album Title in the centre of the Band Logo. I changed the colour of the font to a golden yellow to develop the colour filters effect on the Purchaser of the Album, This also relates to the Magazine Poster as Golden text is used on the poster to advertise the Songs and Album.

On the spine of the cover i used a Black and Red Colour Gradient effect to blend the Red and Black together. I also added the Band Logo at the bottom of the spine and also added the Band Name above it. In the centre of the Spine, i added the Album Title using the white text the same as the Band Logo as it helps it to stand out above all else in the centre. At the top of the Spine i added the Record Labels logo, in this case i used Virgin Records. I did this as many Pop/Rock Bands are signed to Virgin Records such as The Vamps.

On the back of the sleeve i decided to focus more on quality rather than quantity. The back cover is a nice gritty black image of a drum kit used in the Music Video for 'The Last Dance'. To the left of the back cover we can see a list of songs used on the Album, there are 12 songs featured on the Album which are original songs written by Ben Woodward 'Me'. The Band logo is featured underneath the song list to help promote the Band further. On the bottom left of my back cover, we can see a Compact Disc Digital Audio logo placed to help promote other companies. also the back cover is larger than the front as a compact disc case has a larger back compared to the front as the spine is normally placed next to the front cover of the CD Case. in the centre of the back cover at the bottom we can see the copyright information in small black font next to the Record Company Logo. A Virgin Records logo is placed at the bottom next to the copyright information to promote the company used by the band. Finally a barcode is placed at the bottom right of the back cover to allow a customer to purchase the album in a shop.
